The short version
The app never sends your photos anywhere. Everything stays on your phone. This website only ever holds a picture if you deliberately upload one — and if you do, it becomes public. Those are two separate things, and the difference matters, so they're explained separately below.
Your photos in the app
Snapshot Showdown creates cards from photos you choose on your device. The app does not upload, transmit or share them. They are copied into the app's own private storage on your device and stay there. Uninstalling the app removes them.
The app requests access to your photo library solely so you can pick an image to turn into a card. It does not browse, scan or index your library for any other purpose.
Exported card codes and pictures
When you use Export Card, the app does two things on your device: it copies a text code to your clipboard, and it saves a picture of the finished card to your gallery, in an album called Snapshot Showdown.
The code contains your card's name, stats, abilities and battle record. It does not contain your photo. The saved picture is a picture of the card — the frame, name, stats and any stickers — not the original photo from your gallery.
Neither is sent anywhere by the app. Both sit on your device until you choose to do something with them.
Uploading to this website
If you sign in here and upload a card, you are choosing to publish it. You paste the code, then pick the card picture from your gallery yourself. Nothing is uploaded that you did not select.
Once uploaded, a card is public. That means:
- anyone can see the card picture, its stats and your display name
- it can appear on leaderboards and on boards other players vote on
- it has a shareable link that works without an account
Before your first upload you are asked to confirm that the pictures you upload are yours to share, that anyone recognisable in them has agreed, and that they contain nothing explicit, hateful or illegal. That confirmation is recorded with the date and the version of the terms you agreed to.
You can remove any of it at any time. Deleting a card removes its picture from our storage. Deleting your account removes everything you have uploaded, including every picture. Because pictures are delivered through a cache, a copy can survive there for a short time after deletion before it expires; we can clear it sooner on request.
Reports and moderation
Any signed-in player can report a card. Reports are reviewed by a person, and cards that break the rules above are removed. Repeated breaches can result in losing the ability to upload, or the account being closed. We keep a record of reports so that repeat problems can be spotted.
Accounts on this website
Uploading a card to this site requires an account. You can sign in with a one-time email link or with Google. We do not use or store passwords.
What we hold when you create an account:
- your email address (or the email attached to your Google account)
- a display name you choose, shown next to your cards
- the cards you upload — names, stats and battle records
- albums you make, and which cards you have voted for
This is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted by Supabase, who act as our data processor. Card pictures are stored there too, and are delivered to visitors by Cloudflare, who also host this website and keep a temporary copy of each picture so that pages load quickly. We do not sell any of it, share it with advertisers, or use it for anything beyond running this site.
Deleting your account
Sign in and use Delete my account on the upload page. This permanently removes your account, every card you uploaded, your albums and your votes. It takes effect immediately and cannot be undone. Cards in the game on your own device are not affected.
You can also email us and we will do it for you.
Advertising
The game shows optional rewarded video ads, which you choose to watch in exchange for in-game currency. Ads are delivered by Unity LevelPlay and its partner ad networks, including Google AdMob and Unity Ads. These providers may collect and process:
- your device's advertising identifier
- approximate (non-precise) location, derived from your IP address
- device and diagnostic information
- ad interaction data
This is used to serve and measure advertising. See Google's privacy policy and Unity's privacy policy for details of their processing. You can reset or limit your advertising ID in your device settings.
Game data
Your cards, currencies and progress are stored locally on your device. If you have Android Auto Backup enabled, this data may be included in your Google account backup, under Google's terms.
Children
This app is intended for a general audience aged 16 and over and is not directed to children.
